Planning for Baby

One thing that is hard to do because we are adopting is shop.  I love to shop, but I don't know who I am shopping for.  A boy? A girl? An infant? A toddler?  And when are they coming?  So, there is not much I can really plan at this point.  As I was telling my friend about this dilemma, she reminded me that one thing I could do is start collecting children's books.  What a good idea!

So I went to the local thrift shop and picked up these books today, all for $2.25.

Though these are good inexpensive books, what books would you recommend for children?  Any books you know that focus on adoption?

  1. Hey! Well there are so many good children's books out there, but a few of Rose's favorites (and mine) are Goodnight Moon, Pat the Bunny and Goodnight Gorilla. She also really likes the Maisy books, and any books with flaps to look under or different materials to feel. I focused a lot on children's literature in college so once your little one gets older I have a lot of good recommendations for older kids too (like 4th/5th grade).
I'm so excited for you guys!!! xoxo

  2. Alison,
I am so excited for your journey! I didn't know. This http://babyandmeandsammymakes3.blogspot.com/ is my nephew and his wife's blog about their adoption journey. They started out adopting one, but during the long process they decided to add a second. It was an extremely long sometimes trying journey, but soooo wonderful and worth it in the end. They now have two wonderful gifts from the Lord in a daughter and a son. I will be praying for you in your journey and praying for your little one. I know Katie would love to communicate with you if you are interested. She understands so well the difficulty of delays and waiting.
