  • Jun 2, 2016 - Children's Act Ammentment becomes effective
  • Mar 2, 2016 - Parliament passed Children's Act Amendment
  • May 22, 2015 - Dossier is off to Uganda
  • Apr 23, 2015 - USCIS I-600A approval
  • Mar 23, 2015 - USCIS receives I-600A application
  • Mar 21, 2015 - Dossier now complete, except the I-600A approval
  • Mar 21, 2015 - Homestudy Finalized
  • Sep 14, 2014 - Homestudy visit
  • Aug 10, 2014 - Apply to adopt from Uganda again
  • Aug 07, 2014 - Apply to a homestudy agency

  • Mar 25, 2015 - USCIS receives Certificate of Citizenship application
  • Apr 7, 2014 - Received SS card
  • Mar 31, 2014 - Apply for SS card
  • Mar 8, 2014 - Receive New Birth Certificate
  • Jan 10, 2014 - Finalization! Citizenship!
  • Dec 19, 2013 - Receive notice of finalization court date
  • Nov 21, 2013 - File finalization paperwork
  • Sept 21, 2013 - Finally receive Green Card
  • Sept 18, 2013 - Green Card processed
  • Apr 4, 2013 - Arrive home from Uganda
  • Feb 22, 2013 - Received guardianship of our son!
  • Feb 19, 2013 - Court Date in Uganda
  • Feb 14, 2013 - Left for Uganda
  • Jan 7, 2013 - Receive updated I-600A with new fingerprint expiration
  • Jan 3, 2013 - Receive word of a court date in Uganda
  • Dec 19, 2012 - Walk-in fingerprints done at USCIS
  • Dec 14, 2012 - Receive appt. letter for fingerprints
  • Dec 3, 2012 - Dossier in Uganda
  • Nov 28, 2012 - Dossier on its way to Uganda
  • Nov 26, 2012 - Mail request to USCIS for re-fingerprinting
  • Nov 20, 2012 - Home Study completed and mailed
  • Sept 18, 2012 - Apply for new home study
  • Sept 17, 2012 - Receive referral from Uganda
  • Aug 16, 2012 - DRC adoption put on hold
  • Jan 24, 2012 - Uganda adoption fell through
  • Dec 7, 2011 - Receive I-600A approval for DRC and Uganda
  • Nov 22, 2011 - USCIS starts processing Uganda I-600A
  • Oct 25, 2011 - Homestudy received for Uganda
  • Oct 14, 2011 - Officially #11 on the DRC wait list
  • Oct 6, 2011 - Mailed DRC dossier paperwork to agency
  • Oct 6, 2011 - Homestudy received for the DRC
  • Aug 9, 2011 - Uganda I-600A received at USCIS
  • Aug 5, 2011 - DRC I-600A received at USCIS
  • Aug 3, 2011 - All paperwork in for Homestudies
  • July 27, 2011 - Mailed I-600A's to USCIS
  • May 14, 2011 - Apply to adopt from the Democratic Republic of Congo
  • May 11, 2011 - Decide to adopt from Uganda
  • Apr 29, 2011 - Told we cannot adopt from Burundi
  • Mar 31, 2011 - Officially transferred to Agape Adoptions agency
  • Mar 29, 2011 - Informed of our agency "retiring"
  • Jan 3, 2011 - I-800A Approved
  • Dec 11, 2010 USCIS needs new fingerprints
  • Dec 6, 2010 - Agency told us of delay
  • Oct 4, 2010 - I-800A received at USCIS
  • Sept 2010 - Mailed I-800A to USCIS
  • Sept 2010 - Mailed I-800A documents to our agency
  • Sept 2010 - Homestudy finalized
  • July 2010 - Were told we needed two more documents
  • April 2010 - Mailed all the documents to our home study provider
  • Feb 2010 - Announce our adoption to friends and family
  • Dec 2009 - Start home study process
  • Dec 2009 - Apply to an adoption agency
